Jetsonia's Government

Technologically based society

Two main bodies of Government: Empathions and Logicians

Empathions: Make decisions based on what is the right thing to do. This group is non-utilitarians who try to help everyone.

Logicians: Make decisions based on Logic. Will kill one person to save two, etc. They are the Ultimate Utilitarian group.

The two bodies confer together to make the widespread policy decisions. These positions are not voted into, they are test based (technological society) previous group trains the new group every five years for five years. Each group is in office for 10 years.

Ten Logocians and nine Empathions to make decisions, they vote on everything. The entire body is commonly known as the brain, but formerly known as the Jetsonian Brain Trust.

Motto Description

"The Future Unites Us All"
This is our motto for our utopian society, Jetsonia. Jetsonia is a technology driven society. This is significant because since we depend on the latest and best technologies to run our society, we are constantly looking at the future. This explains why our motto is the future unites us all. Without the future and people continuously coming up with the latest technology, we would not be able to succeed and be continuously developing in every way we intend to. The motto also has to do with the fact that we have two bodies of government in the Empathions and the Logicians. Our technology and the future of our technology unites these two bodies of government and helps us become successful.

Seal Description

Seeing how our utopian society is called Jetsonia, our seal has a futuristic space theme. Similar to what the Jetson family used for transportation, I created a spaceship (or flying car) that is shaped into a giant "J" (with the "estonia" portion of our society's name on the left side of the ship). We are using this creation to show how technologically advanced we are in this society versus others. The front of the ship is an arrow pointing forward to explain that our society only looks to the future and never looks back to the past. History texts are deemed as forbidden because the government believes that it helps everyone focus on creativity and discovery without embracing past inventions. This also explains our motto (“The Future Unites Us All”) placed on the flag that the robotic ship hand is holding. Of course between our two-sided government, matters are discussed between the Empathions and Logicians, and are never resolved until votes are tallied, concluding with the Logicians having their final say due to there being more of them. The creature in the cockpit of the ship happens to be an alien like Elroy Jetson’s pet, Orbity. The alien species is our Utopian animal reminding citizens of how one always feels warmth and calmness, resulting in a happy state of mind.

Blog 3 A Successful Jetsonian

Steven is a very successful man around Jetsonia. He is looked up as a role model and as a model digital citizen whom others strive to be like. The reason for his success is very simple. Steven, who came to Jetsonia as a 24 year old man, strived to increase his digital literacy as quickly as possible. Although he came from the old world, he did not let that bother him.

The first thing he did was learn the rules. He loved how hacking was forbidenn in Jetsonia, since he lost all of his important files in the old world due to a hacker that caused him to be fired from his job. At first, he was not use to the futuristic technology that was at his fingertips. There was a bit of a digital divide for him. But because of his persistence, and his willingness to learn his digital literacy flourished.

He used his communicatin skills with others around him to help interpret our technology and soon became a program for our society. Now, Steven is one of the head executives in charge of improving our technology everyday. It goes to show all Jetsonians that a little hard work goes a long way.
