Once stepping onto his doorstop, John would need to confirm his voice with the H.U.D.S. (Home Universal Digital Software) system configured throughout his home. Much like the R.U.D.I. (Referential Universal Digital Indexer) found at the workplace, this system is the mainframe core of every home, controlling all digital pieces of equipment. If the H.U.D.S. system isn't fully operational not only is 85% of your home not going to work, but homeowners will be locked outside of their home. Non-Technolgians look to practice digital vandalism, by altering these homes by the means of hacking. Their purpose to influence Jetsonians to become followers of their teachings, rather than committing random crimes of burglary.
After John's voice has been cleared, he is able to enter his home and is immediately met with his robot maid or butler (in this case its his robot maid Bernadette). These robots are not only there to serve homeowners by completion of chores, but are also there to be a sort of A.I. parent to any child. If a father or mother is off on business or vacation, the robots are set to parenting mode so that they are safely set to keep a child safe from outside intruders. At night whenever everyone is asleep, Bernadette is set to sleep mode (or "turned off'), but she must be plugged into a H.U.D.S. system outlet to charge.
John goes over to his son's bedroom to see if his son, Charlie is doing any better. Charlie's bedroom is specialized so that he can still participate in school even if he is down with a minor sickness. Children are still required to log in missed school hours by walking over to their digital logger machines, normally placed along the left wall of a bedroom. With having well more knowledge than a typical substitute teacher, Bernadette can help teach Charlie his subjects, but she can also pull up over the Internet what his teacher would've taught him (today in class).
John briefly sees his wife Megan because she is running late to get her nails done. Rather than taking one of their 2 flying cars, she decides at the last second to use teleportation. Before teleporting off, she talks to John to make sure that the family hasn't gone over in usage of their teleporter. With these machines using so much volts of electricity that families are only allowed to use them no more than 3 times a month. If a household should go over, they will be fined by their district council. In other extreme matters, such as being 9 or 12 over, it is possible that one could be banished to Flintstonia. This type of object is powered by "flintis," a type of rare crystal that can only be found in Flinstonia. Smaller items like music players, alarm clocks or video cameras run off alternative power instead of your typical batteries. Instead, they are powered off a Super Wi-fi signal that can be picked up through the proximity of their house.
